The Arts in Tiverton |
ARTS | |
Tiverton Flower Club | First Thursday of each month at 2.00pm. We’re a friendly bunch from all walks of life with a shared love of flowers. We host regular demonstrations and run occasional workshops and outings. Our demonstrators are NAFAS qualified and cover the whole range from modern to traditional arrangements and, as you would expect, make it look so easy! But there are always lots of tips and ideas to try out yourself, if you wish. |
Tiverton Film Club | Screenings are held once a month at Petroc College, Tiverton, on the third Wednesday of the month. Doors are open at 6.30 pm and the screening starts at 7.00pm. Nothing quite matches seeing a good film, in good company, on a big screen. But many exciting and original films never get to be shown in our part of the world by the major distributors. However that doesn’t mean you have to miss them all. We have a monthly screening of some of the best films, both British and International, right in the heart of Tiverton and you can also enjoy a chat before the film in relaxed and friendly company. |
Tiverton Ballroom Dancers' Club | Normally on the second Saturday in the month, beginning the season in September and ending in June. Tiverton Ballroom Dancers' Club was first formed in 1992 by a group of ballroom dancers that met informally at the tea dances which were held at Tiverton Hotel. |
Tiverton Town Band | Rehearsals (Senior band): Mondays 7.30pm - 9.45pm, Wednesdays as required. Rehearsals (Training band): Wednesdays 7.00pm - 8.00pm. We are a traditional Brass Band based in Mid Devon, all our players are amateurs, who enjoy performing to audiences at fetes, concerts and contests, where we play in the Fourth Section. We are members of the South West Brass Band Association. |
First Friday Jazz Club | First Friday of every month. Doors open 8.00pm, music starts 8.30pm. We meet on the first Friday of every month, doors open 8.00pm, music starts 8.30 prompt. |
East Devon Choral Society | Every Monday 7.15pm - 8.30pm. East Devon Choral Society (EDCS) has been based in Tiverton since 1973, in recent years under the baton of our talented, enthusiastic conductor Andrew Daldorph. EDCS sings a broad repertoire covering many of the major choral works as well as exploring other musical influences such as gospel, opera and songs from the shows. |
Tiverton & District Poetry Reading Group | Third Wednesday of each month, from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. If you enjoy reading poetry aloud, or just listening to it being read, come along to the Tiverton and District Poetry Reading Group and share that pleasure with like-minded people. |
