Devon Social Group

Established since 1997, Devon Social Group is part of the South West's largest socialising organisation, organising a wide variety of social events in and around Tiverton. Regular events take place in Tiverton, Cullompton, South Molton, Barnstaple, Lynton, Minehead, Exmoor, Chulmleigh, Crediton, Exeter, Exmouth, Sidmouth, Honiton, Axminster, Wellington, Taunton, etc.

Organised by husband and wife team Andrew & Cathy Haglington, who themselves met through this and who got married on the spur of the moment in the middle of a Social Group holiday to Las Vegas! Andrew, originally from Sheffield, has lived in Devon since 1991 - following a skiing accident, ill health and divorce, finding it hard to make new friends, he decided to set up a ready-made 'group of friends' which anyone could join in with in order to make it easier for anyone to meet people and enjoy a better social life. A former employee of Lloyds TSB Bank, who has lived in Devon all her life, following divorce, Cathy joined Devon Social Group in 1999 and now runs the organisation with Andrew.

The couple offer a vast choice of different types of events and the aim is to try to provide something for everyone. Dining out at local restaurants and country pubs, parties, dinner dances, nightlife, themed events, quizzes, wine tasting, BBQ's, etc. Outdoor activities, walks, horse riding, canoeing, cycling, archery, quad biking, paintball, abseiling, jet ski, river rafting, skiing, etc. Plus short breaks and holidays!

Life should be more than just "WORK - TELLY - SLEEP", so if you want to make more of your life, meet new people, make new friends, and enjoy a terrific social life, becoming a Social Group member could make all the difference! All new members are sent a FREE 150 page copy of SOCIAL GROUP MAGAZINE! This contains the entire What's On events programme which acts like a big menu you can choose from, with plenty to suit all tastes and all pockets. Some events are just for 20's, 30's, 40's. Some events are just for 40's, 50's, 60's. Some events are a mixed age group. Everyone is made welcome!

With hundreds of members in both Devon Social Group and in Somerset Social Group, Tiverton area residents can take part in all the events in Devon and all the events in Somerset too - so if you live in this area, there's even more choice!
